Lakeside Adds After Hour Services & Expands Morning Hours of Availability at Multiple Clinics for Employers

Lakeside's original Largo clinic located in Pinellas County will open at 7:00 a.m. Also in Pinellas County, Lakeside's Carillon, Palm Harbor and St. Petersburg clinics will open ½ hour earlier at 7:30 a.m. In Hillsborough County, Lakeside's Downtown, Tampa West, Temple Terrace, and Plant City clinics will now also be open at 7:30 a.m. "We are extremely careful to listen to our clients and provide the services they need during the times that they need at the locations that they need," stated Fred Nussbaum, Lakeside CEO. Added Nussbaum, "Our clients have also requested that we provide additional after hour services that help them bridge the time between end of business and the next morning. To utilize this service the employer simply calls these numbers and the after-hours automated attendant will answer. Following the prompts, when the prompt for the after-hours service of interest is identified the caller simply selects it and then responds with their name, the company name and the phone number where they can be contacted. The caller is then contacted within 15 minutes by the on-call certified technician who provides all necessary instruction to begin this process.

After Hours Drug and Alcohol Collection

Recognizing that all accidents do not happen during normal day time business hours, Lakeside provides certified drug screen collectors and certified breath alcohol technicians on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year to respond to clients needs. Certified staff is always available to meet clients in a Lakeside Clinic or at the employer's location.

After Hours Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Management

Because time is of the essence, Lakeside provides 24/7 coverage of a nurse practitioner and medical assistant who are experienced in the management of blood borne pathogen exposures, including source blood testing. Initially, a Lakeside medical professional will provide telephone consult with the exposed person to determine the significance of the exposure, and the need for testing and intervention. When indicated, the Lakeside medical assistant will meet the worker in a Lakeside clinic to obtain samples for baseline testing of the exposed worker and to run testing on the source blood samples. Post exposure medication can be immediately dispensed at the Lakeside clinic when required.

After Hours Injury Triage

Additionally, as a way to mitigate after hour trips to the local ER, Lakeside has established 24/7 telephonic injury triage. When a non-emergent injury occurs after 5 pm, instead of sending the injured worker to the ER, the employer simply calls Lakeside. A Lakeside medical professional will discuss the mechanism of injury, talk to the injured worker regarding their complaints and symptoms and recommend appropriate action for management of the injury. This may include recommendations for first aid intervention and follow-up in a Lakeside clinic next business day, thus saving costly visits to emergency departments.
